A skill, is a learned capacity to carry out pre-determined results often with the minimum putlay of time, energy or both.
1. The ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well: Carpentry was one of his many skills.
2. Competent excellence in performance; expertness; dexterity: The dancers performed with skill.
3. A craft, trade, or job requiring manual dexterity or special training in which a person has competence and experience.
My understanding of the term "skills" is that it describes how good or professional one is at something/ completes something and one can be skilled/ not so skilled in almost anything. I will use various different skills thoughout my media coursework in the near future, including pre-production skills, ICT skills and camera skills throughout the actual making of the short film. Additionally, I will also be using other skills at the planning stage of my coursework, including creative skills, listening skills and teamworking skills when brainstorming ideas and thinking of concepts.
There are also a wide variety of skills, and throughout this project, and through life really, I will be using Personal Learning and Thinking Skills or PLTS. These include team working skills, creative thinking skills, independant enquirey skills, reflective learning skills, self managing skills and effective participating skills, obviously using basic skills such as literacy and listening in the process.
